ZEROSTAND

Technology and SaaS

Give engineers and pipelines production access through credentials that expire, and keep the evidence auditors and customers ask for.

What you are asked

The questions auditors and customers ask

SOC 2

Register and authorise users before issuing credentials, and remove credentials when access is no longer authorised (CC6.2).

ISO/IEC 27001:2022

Annex A controls on access, identity, authentication and logging, including A.8.2 Privileged access rights.

Customer security questionnaires

Enterprise customers ask who can reach production, how that access ends, and what is logged.

Evidence

Evidence ready for your auditor

A log you can verify

Grants, approvals, rotations and sessions go into a hash-chained, tamper-evident audit log you can verify.

Sessions on record

SSH, RDP and browser sessions are recorded by default and can be replayed, with retention you set. Each statement from a database tool goes to the audit trail.

Recertification campaigns

Safe owners certify or revoke each person's access; the decisions export as CSV evidence.

Entitlements report

Each console user's access to each safe, and the route that grants it, as a CSV.

Approvals on record

Requests, approvals and refusals are audited, with the ticket number where one is given.

A role for auditors

Auditors get a read-only console role and can export the activity log themselves.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Can engineers reach production without standing keys?

Yes, for Linux servers, PostgreSQL and MySQL. A Linux login uses a certificate in the engineer's name, valid for five minutes by default. A database session runs through the Zerostand gateway with a per-session credential; the database password stays in the vault. The access comes from a grant that expires, or from safe membership your recertification campaigns review.

Does it work with Kubernetes?

Yes. Pods prove who they are with the service-account token their cluster gives them; one cluster issuer is set per deployment. Zerostand can also create a short-lived service account bound to a Role you write, removed when its lease expires. Zerostand does not sit in front of the Kubernetes API.

How do CI pipelines get credentials?

The job presents the OIDC token its CI service issues. Zerostand checks it against the issuer you configure (one per deployment) and, once the identity is enrolled, returns a credential valid for five minutes by default. Where policy allows, the job can also get a short-lived database login. Systems with no platform identity can use a pre-shared secret instead; the Command center flags them.

Does it help with SOC 2?

It supports several criteria in CC6 and CC7 (CC6.1, CC6.2, CC6.3, CC6.6 and CC7.2), and the evidence above helps you show them. A SOC 2 report is an auditor's examination of your organisation, not of a product; using Zerostand does not by itself make you compliant, and that stays your responsibility. Zerostand itself holds no certifications yet; see Trust and security.

Where does Zerostand run?

As containers on infrastructure you control, on-premises or in your cloud. Data goes elsewhere only to destinations you configure, such as your SIEM, email server or ticketing system.
